Our BETA auto-texturing feature currently only works with a single input image which needs to be the orthographic front view of the object. It also needs to have removed background as well as padding.
❗Please note that the asset can no longer be iterated after textures are applied❗
However, the textured models are saved as an iteration of the original raw output, so you can always access and iterate that, even after you have tried the texturing functionality.
How to use
In order to utilize our auto-texturing feature you must have first generated your model. Make any adjustments if needed using the iteration feature.
Once you have your generated model you will require one a new input image to accompany your 3D model for the texturing. This image needs to be the orthographic front view of the object. It also needs to have removed background as well as padding. To do this:
Upload the png generated by remove.bg and Click Continue. This step will clear the image leaving you solely with the asset.
Select the variable “transparent” as the background colour to remove & “png” as the desired output file type. Click on “trimmy em’ ” to continue. Download your new image file and head over to your 3D asset.
3. Open Kaedim 3D viewer
Once you've achieved your ideal geometry and gathered your trimmy file, open your asset of choice in our 3D viewer by clicking on the asset picture and subsequently the expand option in the asset card
4. Auto-texture
To the right of the page are all the tools you can access on the 3D viewer.
The following icon is for auto-texturing:
By clicking on it this pop-up will appear:
Here you have 3 options:
1. Upload front view only and create a monochrome background. To do this select monochrome background “On” and upload your trimmy-generated png file of the front view which will be applied as texture. The back will have a monochrome tone applied to it that relates to the asset texture. eg:
Allow a few seconds your 3D model will be texturized.
2. Upload your trimmy-generated png files of the front in both views for it to be mirrored throughout the model. eg:
Allow a few seconds your 3D model will be texturized.
Front view
Back view
3. Upload your trimmy-generated png files of the front and back view for it to be textured. eg:
